BJR announces changes to race engineering roster

BRAD Jones Racing has swung a double change in the race engineering department for the 2023 Repco Supercars Championship.

At least one move was expected following Matt Stone Racing’s recruitment of Paul Forgie, who had previously guided Jack Smith.

The #4 Camaro will now have Julian Stannard in charge, bringing prior race engineering experience to the table.

Andrew Donnelly meanwhile has been promoted from data engineer to lead Car #96 driven by Macauley Jones.

Donnelly replaces Tom Wettenhall, who has been redeployed within BJR.

There is stability in the team’s lead garage, with Andre Heimgartner and Bryce Fullwood continuing to work with Tony Woodward and Phil Keed respectively.

“First of all, I’m thrilled to see Julian back in a race engineering capacity and look forward to seeing him at work on Gen3,” said team owner Brad Jones.

“Donners has also been a real asset to the team over the last few years and it’s an ideal time to be able to give him this opportunity.

“We have a mostly unchanged engineering crew, everyone is a known quantity within the team and we’re happy with where we are at, everyone gets on and there’s a good sense of comradery between the crew here.

“We’re all hands on deck trying to pull the Gen3 cars together and we’re overall in a good position with our build, we’ve made some great progress.”

Tickford Racing is the last team yet to confirm its race engineers.
