BJR MANAGER SET FOR MATT STONE MOVE

MATT Stone Racing has snared the signature of former Formula 1 stalwart Pete Vale to the role of team principal of the Queensland-based squad.

Vale has spent the last four years as team manager at Brad Jones Racing.

His prior experience includes an extensive career in F1, having worked for the likes of Lotus, McLaren, Williams and Manor between 1990 and 2017.

Vale will relocate to the Gold Coast over the off-season and take responsibility for MSR’s workshop and race team operations.

A reshuffle of titles and responsibilities involves current team principal and co-owner Matt Stone taking the CEO tag, while commercial manager Alistair Bye becomes commercial director.

“It’s great to have Pete coming on board,” said Stone.

“His experience and skills as team manager will further strengthen the resources of MSR and his drive will help propel us up the grid.

“His appointment will lead the expansion across the entire MSR operation to fill some vital roles within the team allowing us to push our performance to the next level.”

MSR will welcome two new drivers in 2022 as current BJR steerer Todd Hazelwood and Tickford Racing’s Jack Le Brocq replace Jake Kostecki and Zane Goddard.

The team is also set to continue to field a fleet of cars in the Super2 and Super3 classes.
