BRT shows off advanced Gen3 build

THE Blanchard Racing Team has revealed its challenger for the 2023 Repco Supercars Championship.

The Ford squad has displayed via social media what is the nearest-to-completion Gen3 car (excluding prototypes) seen thus far.

Dubbed BRT001, the car is still missing some final components such as the rear wing and headlights but team owner Tim Blanchard believes they are as well placed as possible, less than a month out from the first round of team testing.

“The guys have worked very long hours through November and December to get the car to that position,” he told V8 Sleuth.

“Full credit to them and their work ethic and approach to it, they’ve taken a very positive attitude towards it.

“There has obviously been frustrations along the way but they just kept at it and they have done a great job getting us into a pretty good position.

“There’s still a few bits and pieces that need to be sorted out but I think we’re not that far away from being able to run it.

“I’m very confident that we’ll have a car ready in a couple of weeks to run on track.

“We’re in as good a shape as we could be with everything that we can control.”

Certain Ford parts are not expected to be finalised until after a mid-January test to verify elements of parity between the Chevrolet and Ford prototypes.

BRT’s crew is led by race-winning engineer Mirko De Rosa.

The team will have 2017 Super2 champion Todd Hazelwood behind the wheel this year, replacing PremiAir Racing-bound Tim Slade.
