Dane lands plum job in the US

TRIPLE Eight co-owner Jessica Dane is set to make her mark in the American motorsport sector.

Aside from making a brief return to Australia which included appearing in the Supercars paddock at the Bathurst 500, Dane has been living in the United States for roughly six months now with partner Shane van Gisbergen.

A respected figure with degrees in journalism and law, Dane has been keen to blaze her own trail Stateside.

That time is now, with Dane appointed to the position of Motorsports Integration Manager at General Motors, based out of Concord, North Carolina.

The associated job description pointed to a desire for at least eight years of experience in top-tier motorsport such as Supercars, Formula 1, NASCAR or IndyCar.

“GM Motorsports Competition strives to leverage our engineering and technical capabilities in collaboration with our outstanding race team partners to advance and improve the value of our products and win race fan opinion, expanding product sales and market share,” the role is described as.

“The primary focus of the Motorsports Integration Manager is to assist with integrating our global technical and competition resources with our corporate and motorsports marketing, activation, and communication teams.

“Partnering with GM Motorsports Marketing and Corporate Purchasing, the Motorsports Integration Manager will support and enhance relationships with our current commercial partners and develop new strategic commercial partner opportunities.

“Ensuring brand alignment and business objectives, you will consult closely with Motorsports Marketing and Competition leadership, program managers, trackside PR staff, various race teams, drivers, and sanctioning bodies.

“Supporting corporate diversity and STEM initiatives you will provide new insights for growth within racing programs.”

Dane has retained her 30 percent stake in Triple Eight despite relocating overseas.

The remainder of the shares belong to Tony Quinn (40 percent) and Jamie Whincup (30 percent).

Triple Eight is the General Motors homologation team in the Repco Supercars Championship.
