DATE CONFIRMED FOR LOWNDES LIVERY LAUNCH

THE livery in which seven-time Bathurst 1000 winner Craig Lowndes will tackle Mount Panorama this year will be kept under wraps until the last minute.

Triple Eight Race Engineering has confirmed next Tuesday, October 4 as the reveal date.

That will come at a function at Supercheap Auto’s Bathurst store from 3:30pm, tying in with the car’s naming rights partner.

Lowndes has been named as the #888 ZB Commodore’s primary driver, although co-driver Declan Fraser may yet qualify the car.

It will be Fraser’s first Repco Bathurst 1000; he has impressed for Triple Eight this year to be leading the Super2 standings with two rounds remaining.

Lowndes and Fraser will complete their final preparations at a test day at Queensland Raceway on Wednesday.

Triple Eight’s lead Red Bull cars will be shared by Shane van Gisbergen/Garth Tander (#97) and Broc Feeney/Jamie Whincup (#88).

Opening practice at the event begins on Thursday, October 6.
