DJR announces Croke departure

DICK Johnson Racing has split with respected team manager Ben Croke.

The Ford Supercars squad has confirmed the news this morning.

Croke joined DJR Team Penske in 2016 as crew chief and was promoted to team manager the following year, and then to team principal in 2021.

He returned to team manager status amid an end-of-2023 reshuffle that saw Ryan Story come back as team principal and high-profile engineer Ludo Lacroix move on.

Croke last month missed the Perth SuperSprint due to a family holiday overseas, with Mikey Flynn and Josh Silcock sharing the team manager duties there.

Now, DJR has parted ways with Croke, whose vast Supercars experience also includes stints with Perkins Engineering, Stone Brothers Racing and Erebus Motorsport.

“The Shell V-Power Racing Team today announces the departure of Team Manager, Ben Croke,” read a team statement.

“We thank Ben for his invaluable contributions and leadership throughout his tenure.

“He leaves behind a legacy of success, excellence, care and camaraderie. We wish him well for the future.

“Josh Silcock and Mikey Flynn will undertake all internal and at track operational, administration and technical requirements.”

DJR enters this weekend’s Darwin Triple Crown with off-contract drivers Will Davison and Anton De Pasquale perched seventh and eighth in the championship, respectively.
