DJR confirms 2023 race engineering line-up

THE Shell V-Power Racing Team has put to bed any speculation about its race engineering line-up for the 2023 Repco Supercars Championship.

Team principal Ben Croke today confirmed to V8 Sleuth that the Will Davison/Richard Harris and Anton De Pasquale/Ludo Lacroix combinations will continue for a third season.

Lacroix in particular has for some time been at the centre of rumblings that he might depart, either for a fresh start or to return to France.

However, that’s not the case, with his championship-winning expertise to be a major asset as the Ford squad navigates the first season of Gen3.

Meanwhile, having first struck up a relationship during their Erebus Motorsport days in the mid-2010s, Davison and Harris thrived last year to take the #17 Mustang to nine pole positions and three race wins.

It is otherwise a year of change for Dick Johnson Racing, and not just in the machinery it will run.

Brett Ralph’s majority ownership took effect on January 1, marking the start of a new era – although both Dick Johnson and Ryan Story retain minority stakes.

DJR also has a fresh face atop its day-to-day hierarchy with former AFL administrator/coach David Noble installed as CEO. Story has slotted into the role of non-executive chairman.

Having finished second in the teams’ championship last year, DJR’s bid to return to the top starts with a January 30 shakedown at Queensland Raceway.
