A DIVERSE grid of classic machinery in the Heritage Revival support races will ensure Sandown’s Supercars fixture retains a touch of its ‘retro’ feel this weekend.
Sandown was Supercars’ nominated ‘retro round’ from 2016-19, emphasising the history of the storied Melbourne venue.
While there is no official theme and only one special Supercars livery this year, the Heritage Revival and S5000 classes have joined the support bill.

The Heritage Revival is open to competitors with Group A, C and N specification historic touring cars, as well as Group S sportscars.
A total of 29 entries have been received by organisers, highlighted by three Group As and 10 of the highly popular Group Cs, all of which are original race cars.
The Group A entry features the 1985 Bathurst 1000 winning Jaguar XJS, owned and raced by Victorian Mike Roddy.
A second Jaguar (Tony Pallas) and an ex-Colin Bond Ford Sierra RS500 campaigned by Steve Webb, father of Team Sydney principal Jonathon, complete the Group A trio.
Falcons, Commodores and Toranas make up the bulk of the Group C contingent, while seven Mustangs will tackle a Torana and an XY Falcon in Group N.
The sportscar set includes two-time Bathurst 1000 winner John Bowe, who will race a Chevrolet Corvette C2 owned by friend Joe Calleja.
Bowe will also be on hand at Sandown to present the new John Bowe Trophy to the winner of the final S5000 race.
The Heritage Revival field will contest four races across the weekend: two on Saturday and two on Sunday.
Action will be broadcast on Fox Sports, with V8 Sleuth’s own Aaron Noonan set to commentate alongside Chad Neylon.
