TODAY’S confirmation of a Chevrolet Camaro flying the flag for General Motors in the Supercars Championship from 2022 onwards has set tongues wagging as Gen3 regulations will see the Camaro take on Ford’s Mustang.
The Camaro has a significant history in the sport in Australia – Bob Jane won back-to-back Australian Touring Car Championships in 1971 and 1972 and Kevin Bartlett took a Z28 Camaro to pole at Bathurst in both 1980 and 1981.
