TODAY, 50 years ago – Sunday October 4, 1970 – was a very special day for Allan Moffat as he claimed his first of an eventual four wins in ‘The Great Race’ at Bathurst.

Now, Classic Carlectables is paying respect to the 50th anniversary of Moffat’s first Mountain win by releasing a gold livery anniversary edition 1:18 scale model of his 1970 Bathurst-winning Falcon GT-HO Phase II.

The 1970 win was Moffat’s first of four victories in the Bathurst ‘Great Race’ – he followed it up to claim further wins in 1971, 1973 and 1977.

With over 20 years in the Australian motorsport industry, Noonan is the head of V8 Sleuth.
