Yes, it’s true, McLaughlin is racing a #17 Mustang at Queensland Raceway this weekend – but it’s not Scott, who will be back in Supercars action at Sandown next weekend in a brand new Shell V-Power Racing Mustang GT.
Local rising star John McLaughlin will be making his TA2 Muscle Car Series debut in the final round of the modern muscle racing series aboard a #17 Mustang.
A former champion in the local Track Attack Excel Cup Series he stepped up this year to the Toyota 86 Racing Series and expects to compete in TA2 full-time next year.
This weekend also sees the TA2 debut of former Nations Cup champion Paul Stokell aboard a new car owner by TA2 regular Warren Wadley.
Aaron Seton holds a 40-point series lead over George Miedecke heading into this weekend’s finale with 220 points available for the weekend and eight drivers in mathematical contention.
