Sydney event to host three legendary Bathurst winners next month …

THE 2018 Diecast Model Expo is just around the corner in Sydney and the event is set to include three special guests in the form of Australian motorsport icons Dick Johnson, Colin Bond and John Bowe.

To be held at the Rydges Hotel in Parramatta on November 10-11, the two-day event will celebrate all kinds of model cars with a range of memorabilia available to purchase over the course of the weekend.

The Expo will include a Gala Dinner on the Saturday night along with two days of exhibitions, trading and competitions – giving fans the chance to stock-up on the latest releases or complete a collection.

Bowe and Bond will be on hand during the Gala Dinner that includes a two-course meal, giveaways and the chance to purchase models available only to the night’s attendees.

The evening will also host a range of model producers and industry partners along with workshops and ‘how to’ sessions.

Sunday morning will see the arrival of Johnson on the expo floor, giving fans the chance to take photos with the three-time Bathurst winner and have merchandise signed by the Ford legend.

Johnson has recently penned the all-important foreword for our upcoming ‘Ford at Bathurst, The Cars: 1963-2018’ limited-edition book – click here to pre-order your copy here.

Attendees of the Diecast Model Expo will also have the chance to purchase a range of exclusive models available during the event including John Bowe’s 1999 Caterpillar Falcon EL and a ‘first drive’ edition of Scott McLaughlin’s DJR Team Penske FG-X Falcon – click here to view the entire range on offer.

A unique addition to this year’s expo will be ‘room trading’ where attendees can utilise their motel rooms at the Rydges to meet, trade, buy and sell models – turning their accommodation into a shop front.
