V8 SLEUTH Touring Car Classic organisers have announced Motorsport Parts Australia as the Pole Position Award sponsor for the inaugural event at Winton on the Father’s Day weekend, August 31-September 1.

The online motorsport parts specialists have put up a prize of $200 to the pole-sitter in each of the classes, which include pre and post-Project Blueprint V8 Supercars, Super Tourers/Future Tourers and Invited Cars.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Motorsport Parts Australia on-board as a partner of the inaugural V8 Sleuth Touring Car Classic,” says event co-promoter Aaron Noonan.

“The MPA team have great passion for the sport and liked our vision for this event and how it will celebrate the history of tin-top racing in Australia from recent times.

“They’re a growing business filling a real niche in the market and having them put up some cash for pole position in each of the classes is a way of giving back to the competitors.”

Motorsport Parts Australia joins Kumho Tyre as a partner of the V8 Sleuth Touring Car Classic.

Open to former V8 Supercars/five-litre V8 Touring Cars, two-litre Super Tourers, V8 Future Tourers and invited cars, the Classic will be a celebration of Australian touring car racing history.

Holden Commodore VE/VE IIs and Ford Falcon FGs, the cars that make up the bulk of the current Kumho Tyre Super3 Series field, will not be permitted in the Classic.

The event has also secured live streaming coverage on both the Saturday and Sunday as part of the Winton Shannons Nationals telecast that will also be viewable via the V8 Sleuth website and its social media channels.

The event format will mirror the Super3 Series with practice, qualifying and three races.

A range of cars have already confirmed their entries for the event, including an ex-PWR Falcon AU, Shell Helix/Paul Radisich Falcon AU and the 2006 V8 Supercar Championship-winning Toll HSV Commodore formerly driven by Rick Kelly.
