PremiAir driver joins Phillip Island GT field

A LARGER GT World Challenge Australia field at Phillip Island will include the addition of an Audi to be driven by PremiAir Racing Supercars co-driver Dylan O’Keeffe.

The Porsche Carrera Cup Australia regular will share a Melbourne Performance Centre-run R8 LMS with Andrew Fawcett.

O’Keeffe teamed up with James Golding for last year’s Bathurst 1000 and will be back in the #31 Camaro for the 2023 enduros.

Other entries joining the 21-strong GT Round 3 grid include the Lamborghini Huracan of Adrian Deitz and David Wall, the Porsche 911 GT3R of Stephen and Brenton Grove, and a second Volante Rosso Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT3 for Chris Batzios and Sam Brabham.

The all-new MARC GT will race in the Invitational class with Geoff Taunton and Daniel Jilesen aboard, while Renee Gracie will have competition in the Trophy class courtesy of Tigani Motorsport’s Paul Lucchitti.

Missing from the field which tackled Wanneroo Raceway last weekend will be both Triple Eight Mercedes-AMG cars, which will instead be at Thailand’s Chang International Circuit for Round 1 of GT World Challenge Asia.

Another significant change will be that of the co-driver for Australian championship leader Liam Talbot, with Fraser Ross returning in place of Austrian supersub Max Hofer.

Hofer will instead partner Geoff Emery in the #75 Jamec Racing Audi.

Other categories in action at the May 12-14 Phillip Island round of the Shannons SpeedSeries will be TCR Australia, S5000, National Trans Am, the Kumho V8 Touring Car Series, and Australian Production Cars/GT4 Australia.
