PremiAir, Schumacher join forces for Bathurst

SUPERCARS’ newest team will broaden its horizons with a move into the world of GT racing next month at the Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour.

There, PremiAir Racing will compete in collaboration with Schumacher Motorsport.

The team will field the recently upgraded Audi R8 LMS Evo owned by Bathurst local Brad Schumacher, which placed fourth outright in last year’s 12 Hour.

Schumacher has an existing relationship with PremiAir recruit Tim Slade, the pair having raced together on several occasions in GT World Challenge Australia – including finished second in a three-hour Mount Panorama enduro in November.

PremiAir is set to announce its full driver line-up for the 12 Hour next week, with Slade’s new Supercars teammate James Golding also a likely candidate.

The PremiAir/Schumacher Audi will run with major backing from Fuchs.

That comes as sister brand Nulon is widely rumoured to be taking naming rights on at least one of PremiAir’s Chevrolet Camaros for the 2023 Repco Supercars Championship.

The Bathurst 12 Hour will take place across February 3-5.

The field has been boosted with announcements this week of entries for Craft-Bamboo Racing and Tigani Motorsport/Valmont Racing.
