Randle/Nash join forces in Tickford Hyundai

THOMAS Randle has combined with Tickford Racing co-owner Rod Nash’s teenaged son for a solid set of results at The Bend.

Randle and Charlie Nash paired up for a South Australian Excel enduro event on the weekend, aboard a Tickford Racing-entered #155 Hyundai.

The duo placed sixth of 34 in both hour-long races, in a field featuring several familiar faces.

Included was another couple of Tickford prodigies, Brad Vaughan and Rylan Gray.

Vaughan, who won the 2022 Super3 title and has shown plenty of speed this year in Super2, placed third with Jacob Currie in the opener. They came home 12th in Race 2.

Gray and Ryan Casha meanwhile finished fourth and third in the two hitouts, while two-time Bathurst 1000 starter Jaylyn Robotham won Race 1 alongside Brad Vereker.

Gray is the latest member of the Tickford Autosport program to be stepping into the Supercars sphere, confirmed last night to be making his Super3 debut at the Adelaide 500 on November 23-26.

As for Randle, the Excel round proved a continuation of his affinity with The Bend, where he qualified his Castrol Mustang Supercar on the front row last year and took a hat-trick of podiums this August.

“Fun weekend in the SA Hyundai Excel enduro at The Bend! Finished up P6 out of 34 in both races with the young fella!” Randle wrote on social media.

“Charlie drove the wheels off it for his first enduro. Thanks Rod, Liza and Charlie for the call up, hope I impressed!”

Nash is an Excel regular, with his father having been a four-time Bathurst 1000 starter before shifting focus to team ownership.

Randle, Nash Jr and Vaughan will be part of a three-tier, seven-car Tickford Supercar fleet at the VAILO Adelaide 500.
