Steiner set for taste of Supercar in Adelaide

POPULAR ex-Haas Formula 1 boss Guenther Steiner will be taken for a spin in a Supercar at next month’s Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival.

Steiner is one of several F1 personalities attending the event, along with Valtteri Bottas, Liam Lawson, Damon Hill and commentator David Croft.

Among Steiner’s activities in Adelaide will be as passenger to James Courtney in a Ford Mustang Supercar.

Event communications have indicated the Supercar will be provided by Courtney’s Blanchard Racing Team, but does not specify which particular chassis.

BRT has three Gen3 Mustangs and one Gen2/Super2 Mustang in its possession.

Courtney, a Supercars championship winner, crossed paths with Steiner in F1 at Jaguar Racing in the early 2000s when they were test driver and team principal, respectively.

Steiner’s passenger experience is scheduled for 2:15pm on Saturday March 16.

The 2024 Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival will be held across March 16-17, the weekend before the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix.

Courtney and BRT will race as a support category at Albert Park, for what will be Round 2 of the 2024 Repco Supercars Championship.

Courtney finished 15th and 19th in the two legs of the Thrifty Bathurst 500.
