TCM grid grows for Adelaide showdown

A 27-CAR Touring Car Masters field will roar into Adelaide as Steven Johnson bids for a fourth title.

The second-generation driver carries a 75-point lead over Ryan Hansford into this week’s decider, where 200 points will be up for grabs.

NEWS: TCM competitor buyout in the works

Hansford was the 2022 champion, but Johnson put himself in the box seat with an unparalleled run of form – specifically five successive round wins – across the end of last season and the start of ’23.

Another prominent storyline to watch in Adelaide will be John Bowe’s swansong event as a TCM regular.

The New Zealand contingent which raced at the recent Bathurst International will also be in action once more, but the competitor who might rain on the parade of all of the above is Joel Heinrch.

Now a two-time Aussie Racing Cars champion, Heinrich won two of three races on category debut at The Bend in August.

He’ll be back behind the wheel of Whiteline Racing’s #95 Chevrolet Camaro after missing the Bathurst round.
