TCM team scouring driver market

WHITELINE Racing has launched a late effort to fill its two Chevrolet Camaro seats for the upcoming Gulf Western Oil Touring Car Masters campaign.

Incumbent George Miedecke won three races last year but is unable to contest the full 2023 season due to his upcoming wedding clashing with Round 2 at Newcastle in March.

Whiteline’s other entry was shared by Adam Bressington and Michael Almond in 2022; the former’s immediate future depends on sponsorship, while the latter is yet to announce his plans.

Just six weeks remain until the season-opener at Symmons Plains on February 24-26.

“We’re working hard to put things together in time to get to Tasmania,” said Bob Middleton of Whiteline Racing.

“It’s an unfortunate bit of timing with George but we understand that he wants to be a title contender – missing a round in a series this competitive doesn’t help.

“Bresso would love to be in the car full time but in the end it comes down to sponsorship.

“Both drivers are part of the family but we know how it works so we’re looking further to get people in the cars.

“We’ve had discussions with some prospective sponsors and some very interesting, very fast drivers, who are keen to be part of the team so it’s a matter of trying to pull all the pieces together.

“Whiteline has supported TCM through thick and thin and we’re coming off one of our best ever seasons.

“Both cars are fast at every circuit and the 2023 calendar will suit them, too.

“It’s a tough market at the moment but hopefully we can pull something together and show people again how competitive our team is.

“We’re certainly open to speaking to drivers who want to be involved.”

Whiteline has recorded 11 round wins and 34 race wins across its time in TCM.
