Tough test precedes Stewart’s American Carrera Cup debut

NEW Zealander Madeline Stewart will start a new chapter in her career this week when she debuts in Porsche Carrera Cup North America.

Stewart has graduated with JDX Racing after finishing third overall in Porsche Sprint Challenge North America last year.

Round 1 of American Carrera Cup will take place in support of the 12 Hours of Sebring in Florida, across March 13-15.

The former Brad Jones Racing Super3 driver is coming off a challenging if lesson-filled test at Sebring International Raceway.

“I am under no illusions of how big the step will be up to Carrera Cup,” she said.

“There are a lot of very fast experienced drivers, but I am looking forward to the challenge.

“We had a somewhat challenging test last week where we struggled to optimise the set-up on the car.

“I am confident that we found what we were looking for in the last session so have a good base to build on for the racing.”

Stewart forms part of a four-pronged JDX driver roster alongside Brit Alex Sedgwick, Canada’s Zachary Vanier, and American Elias De La Torre IV.

Beyond Sebring, the eight-round season features stops at Miami, Montreal (Circuit Gilles Villeneuve), Watkins Glen, Road America, Indianapolis, Road Atlanta, and Circuit of The Americas.
