Trans Am introduces title prize

THE winner of the 2024 National Trans Am Series will receive free entry into the category for the following season.

It’s one of two key prizes announced in the countdown to Round 1 at Sandown on February 9-11.

Also coming in will be a Trans Am Pole Award worth $1000 at each round.

“The prizes on offer are a fantastic reward for the drivers who are able to deliver across the season,” category manager Graham Sattler said.

“We’re particularly excited to introduce the pole award for this season.

“Our qualifying sessions have always been extremely exciting, and as we saw in 2023, they’ve offered up a great deal of unpredictability.

“To have that prize for the fastest qualifier should be a nice incentive for drivers to give that extra 10 percent.

“The drivers and teams are working hard for round one, and we should have a great field at Sandown, a good mix of youth and experience for one of the most exciting categories in the country.”

The likes of James Moffat, Elliot Barbour and Edan Thornburrow have confirmed their return to Trans Am this year, while Tim Slade and James Golding are among big names in line to join the series.
