Trans Am team hails Seton influence

DREAM Racing Australia trio Jackson Rice, Josh Webster and Lee Stibbs have spoken glowingly of the opportunity to be guided by motorsport legend Glenn Seton.

Seton signed with DRA as its technical advisor last month; this weekend’s Shannons SpeedSeries round at The Bend marks his first Trico Trans Am meeting at the helm. He has already been on deck for a TA2 round.

“To watch Glenn in his element is next level,” said Rice, who is DRA’s lead driver in the standings in outright 11th.

“He’s a legend in the sport in his own right, but he was also successful in this category as a car preparer and engineer in its early days.

“To work alongside Glenn, watch how he works and pick his brain about some of our ideas is really cool. It’s exciting for me in my personal development and building a set-up.

“To work with Glenn brings fresh life to the team and will put us in good stead.”

Webster added: “It’s going to be our first round working with Glenn and it’s going to be awesome working with a Supercars legend.

“We’ve had a couple of phone calls since Phillip Island, but The Bend will be the first time physically working together, which hopefully we can find some pace.

“Glenn has earmarked some driver technique changes on Friday making practice more important and I’ll finetune these across the weekend.

“Glenn is no stranger to these cars, so not only will he be able to help with the set-up side of things, but also a fantastic driver coach and I’m looking forward to embracing it.

“He knows what it takes and what needs to be done to make it at the top, so to be able to lean on him with advice it’s going to be good for the team.”

Stibbs joins the fold after making his DRA debut in the recent Sydney Motorsport Park TA2 round.

Unlike his Mustang-shod teammates, Stibbs will race a #66 Camaro.
