Triple Eight lands new co-naming rights deal

TRIPLE Eight Race Engineering’s Repco Supercars Championship squad will continue to be known as Red Bull Ampol Racing for at least another season.

It comes as the Banyo squad announces a new two-year co-naming rights extension with Ampol through to the end of 2024.

One more year remains on the existing Red Bull contract.

Ampol, through its previous guise as Caltex, first joined forces with Triple Eight in 2005.

“Our relationship with Ampol began back in 2005, and they’ve been exceptional partners of our team, sharing nine Bathurst 1000 wins, nine drivers’ championships and 10 teams’ championships over this period,” said Triple Eight managing director Jamie Whincup.

“We share a mutual passion for motorsport and fuelling the next generation, but the team have particularly enjoyed the last two years representing their relaunch of the iconic Ampol brand.

“The entire Triple Eight team are pumped to have Ampol continue their co-naming rights partnership, alongside Red Bull, and we look forward to sharing an exciting future for both the team, and the sport overall.”

Ampol is not to be confused with the newly reborn Caltex brand in Australia, which has taken over from Puma and returned to the Supercars sphere this month as the major backer of the Matt Chahda/Jaylyn Robotham wildcard at the Repco Bathurst 1000.

Triple Eight could seal both the drivers’ and teams’ championships this weekend at the Gold Coast 500.
