V8 SLEUTH ACQUIRES AUTOPIX PHOTO ARCHIVE

Significant addition to V8 Sleuth archives …

V8 SLEUTH’S parent company AN1 Media today announced it has acquired the significant image archive and full rights to Ian Smith’s Autopix collection of motorsport photography.

Smith, the founding editor of Australian Auto Action, has been a legendary photographer in the sport, covering a range of events across the 1960s, 70s and 80s.

He will remain fully active photographing historic events, but his Autopix archive – featuring stars of the sport including Peter Brock, Allan Moffat and the amazing Group C touring car, Formula 5000 and Sports Sedan era of the sport – now join the V8 Sleuth archives.

The acquisition now adds the Autopix collection to other significant photographic works held by the V8 Sleuth and AN1 Media team. In 2013 it purchased Graeme Neander’s Coventry archive and earlier this year secured Justin Deeley’s inetpics archive as well.

AN1 Media MD – and head ofV8 Sleuth- Aaron Noonan, said today’s acquisition is an important one for his growing company.

“We specialise in Australian motorsport history in all facets and Ian’s Autopix archive is a fine body of work we’re thrilled to add to the archive,” he says.

“Just taking five minutes to go through some of the black and white negatives brings back so many great motorsport memories, it’s easy to find yourself standing there and completely distracted from what you were doing before you picked up them to view them!

“Ian’s work is top class andI’m thrilled he views us as a worthy place for his Autopix archive of images to live on.”
