V8 SLEUTH today confirmed it has appointed Perth-based Authentic Collectables as both its exclusive distributor and managers of a new online storefront for its award-winning range of motorsport publications and memorabilia products.
The organisation’s online store has become a popular online destination for motorsport fans, its creation coming at the same time in mid-2016 as V8 Sleuth was putting the finishing touches to the publication of ‘Cars of the King’, a glossy colour, high-end magazine focused on the histories of Peter Brock’s Bathurst race cars.
It has grown in the last 18 months to retail further V8 Sleuth-created items, including the sold-out, award-winning ‘HRT The Cars 1989-2016’ limited edition collector’s book and ‘The Falcon Files’ documenting all Falcon V8 Supercars built and raced in a 25 year period.

The store has also stocked a wide selection of motorsport DVDs, prints and posters as well as model cars, however the change will see the organisation now able to more closely focus on the development of its own future products and publications.
“Since the launch of our V8 Sleuth Online Store in mid-2016 we’ve been truly blown away by the huge level of response from the industry and fans from all parts of the country, as well as overseas,” says V8 Sleuth’s Aaron Noonan.
“The growth of the store has caught us completely by surprise, so hence the decision to appoint Authentic Collectables as our exclusive distributor and to bring our online storefront within their web site.
“They are best equipped to deal with processing and managing orders and liaising with its wide network of stockists; it allows us to concentrate on creating the concepts and content that underpin even more publications and products in the future.
“We’re not closing down – we’re simply refining our back-end process of how we do things to ensure we focus on what we have built our reputation on, which is the creation of engaging, informative, authoritive material that is valued and respected by many far and wide.”
As a result of this change, V8 Sleuth’s Online Store will no longer retail model cars or DVDs however the organisation remains very closely connected to both of these parts of the Australian motorsport industry.
V8 Sleuth MD Noonan will continue to host and co-produce a range of motorsport DVD titles with Chevron Marketing Services in addition to the V8 Sleuth website continuing to keep fans updated with upcoming releases and new titles.
V8 Sleuth also has close ties with three Perth-based model producers in Authentic Collectors, APEX Replicas and Biante Model Cars and will continue to provide editorial support and content, research and development support and associated services to the brands.
A number of book and print projects are planned by the V8 Sleuth team for 2018 with plenty of announcements coming in the near future that will interest motorsport fans and collectors alike – so stay tuned.
