THE V8 Sleuth team has taken out a Motorsport Australia Media Award for its work in 2020.
V8 Sleuth scored the ‘Best Use of Digital Media’ gong in the governing body’s annual awards, recognising the quality and variety of online content produced throughout the year.
The judges commented: “Across a range of different platforms, Aaron [Noonan] and the V8 Sleuth team provided a terrific mix of breaking news, podcasts and feature stories that saw significant online growth to the V8 Sleuth channels.
“The site also broke its own exclusive stories and has a large and engaged online audience.”

V8 Sleuth MD Aaron Noonan accepted the award on behalf of his team.
“This award is great recognition for the effort put in by the V8 Sleuth team during a challenging year; in particular our Head of Digital Will Dale,” said Noonan.
“Thanks to the support of our loyal followers we were able to not only survive 2020 but expand both our audience and our staff, which gives me great pride.
“Our digital numbers grew significantly in 2020 and are already off to a flying start in ‘21 which, together with a host of exciting publishing projects, will make for another big year.”
Other Motorsport Australia Media Award winners included Dirk Klynsmith, who took out the ‘Photographer of the Year’ title in his final season covering the sport on a full-time basis.
Images from Klynsmith’s 30-year career are featured throughout V8 Sleuth’s digital and publishing products following the acquisition of his archive in 2017.
