WATCH: SIGNWRITING THE 1993 BATHURST-WINNING COMMODORE

THE latest episode on Perkins Engineering’s YouTube channel focuses on an exciting step in the restoration of two VP Commodores: adding their period-correct signage.

Both the 1993 Bathurst winner and the car that finished third in the following year’s Great Race are shown following the application of period-correct signage by original signwriter Pan Signs.

In the video, Jack Perkins explains the incredible attention to detail that has gone into ensuring the signage on both cars fully replicates how they raced at Bathurst.

The episode coincides with the release of V8 Sleuth’s new book, Perkins Engineering: The Cars, 1986-2008, produced in conjunction with PE.

A comprehensive look at all 49 cars produced by PE, the book includes the first images of the restored 1993 Larry Perkins/Gregg Hansford Commodore in its sign-written form.

Pre-ordered books will be dispatched to customers this week.
