Waters declares himself off the market

CAM Waters has affirmed that he will not be a factor in the upcoming Supercars silly season.

Waters’ contractual status with Tickford Racing was unclear beyond this season until the team’s CEO Simon Brookhouse revealed both its current drivers (the other being Thomas Randle) are under contract for 2025.

Despite a growing presence in NASCAR, having made two Truck Series starts ahead of his Cup Series debut next month, the Mildura product is assuring that he’ll continue behind the wheel of the #6 Monster Energy Mustang Supercar.

“I’ll just be where I am now,” Waters told The Driver’s Seat of his 2025 plans.

“I like reading all the speculation and all that stuff. I have a laugh to myself, so does my team. But yeah, I’ll be at Tickford next year.

“Hopefully do a bit of overseas racing like I have this year, maybe, and the sprintcar stuff as well.

“This year has been a lot of fun with a bit of racing on the side, and the main focus is the Supercars championship.”

That leaves as few as six seats undecided for 2025, although there’s still bound to be intrigue with the likes of Brodie Kostecki, Anton De Pasquale, Will Davison and Mark Winterbottom coming off-contract and young guns such as Kai Allen and Cooper Murray hunting an opportunity.

Before next month’s Darwin Triple Crown, Waters and Will Brown will both line up in the NASCAR Cup Series at Sonoma Raceway on June 9.
