WINTON SUPERCARS ROUND POSTPONED

THE Winton round of the Repco Supercars Championship due to be held this weekend has been postponed due to the ongoing COVID situation in Victoria.

Supercars issued a statement today, proposing a new date of July 31-August 1. This will be confirmed within the next seven days.

That date would put the Winton SuperSprint in between the NTI Townsville 500 (July 9-11) and the Beaurepaires Sydney SuperNight at Sydney Motorsport Park on August 20-22.

“While regrettable, today’s decision has been made to ensure the health and safety of all Supercars fans, staff and teams,” the Supercars statement read.

“Ticket holders for this weekend’s event can either collect a full refund or hold on to their tickets for the Winton SuperSprint to run on the new dates.

“Supercars and the Benalla Auto Club will continue to ensure that all events are compliant with appropriate State, Territory and Federal regulations.”

The next scheduled round of the Repco Supercars Championship will be the Merlin Darwin Triple Crown at Hidden Valley Raceway on June 19-20.
