$100,000 purse for Supercars’ Boost Mobile Qualifying

SUPERCARS has announced a $100,000 prize pool for qualifying this season, under a new sponsorship deal with Boost Mobile.

As previously reported by V8 Sleuth, Boost has taken over the naming rights for Supercars Qualifying sessions, which is considered one of the category’s key sponsorship properties.

Armor All had held the position, which includes Super2 Qualifying, since 2006, but has switched its marketing spend with Supercars to other areas this year.

The increase in pole money starts with $5,000 for each pole position at this weekend’s Thrifty Bathurst 500, up from the regular $1,000.

Pole for the Repco Bathurst 1000 will now be worth $15,000, instead of $5,000, while the Pole Champion Award for most poles in the season has been upped from $10,000 to $25,000.

The new deal between Supercars and Boost comes despite the latter’s founder, Peter Adderton, being a frequent and vocal critic of the category’s management.

Boost currently sponsors the Gold Coast 500, although Adderton recently declared that he’s halted any talks of a renewal due to Supercars’ handling of the Brodie Kostecki saga.

Supercars General Manager of Commercial, Jamie Black, welcomed the new deal.

“Boost Mobile has been a valuable partner and supporter of Supercars for many years, and we are delighted to expand that partnership into the 2024 season,” he said.

“Their commitment to innovation, enhancing the fan experience, and featuring our fastest and brightest make Boost Mobile a fitting match for Supercars and Dunlop Series Qualifying.

“We look forward to sitting on the edge of our seats as the best in our game battle it out week after week for the Boost Mobile Pole across 2024.”

Boost’s Jason Haynes added: “Boost Mobile’s expanded presence in Supercars reflects our commitment to delivering unparalleled experiences for the fans and support for the world class talent of the Supercars drivers.

“Excitement, adrenaline, and speed are traits that are aligned to Boost Mobile and Supercars, and we plan to continue pushing the envelope when it comes to showcasing the best in this great sport.

“We are very excited to sponsor Boost Mobile Qualifying, and I am looking forward to handing out the first Boost Mobile Pole cheque this weekend to our first pole sitters of 2024.”
