In the V8 Sleuth Podcast powered by Castrol, Aaron Noonan chats one-on-one with icons of Australian motorsport. Along with the big wins and the big moments, Noonz digs a step deeper and unearths a few forgotten tales and funny stories from their life in racing. The podcast blends episodes focused on in-depth interviews with Classic Car episodes that focus on the memorable moments from the racing life of a single chassis and where it is now, episodes that look back on a category, event, series or circuit, as well as the popular audience Q&A episodes with co-host Will Dale.

We’re talking to veteran engineer Phil Keed for this week’s episode of the V8 Sleuth Podcast powered by Castrol.
Although he’s long been a fixture within the Supercars paddock, the first part of our two-part chat looks back at his career prior to joining the championship full-time in 2003.Â
Keed talks about where his passion for motorsport came from, and how he got his start in the industry by cold-calling Colin Bond’s workshop while he was still in high school! He shares stories of going to Bathurst with the team, and why they pointed him in the direction of becoming an engineer instead of a mechanic.
He also shares a heap of incredible stories from his years in rallying, where he rose from working for Ralliart in Australia to becoming multiple world champion Tommi Makinen’s engineer at the Prodrive-run Subaru World Rally Team.
