2022 MONARO NATIONALS DATE LOCKED IN

THE 2022 Monaro Nationals will be held on September 29 to October 3 in 2022 in Toowoomba, Queensland.

Entries are tagged to open this September, with a Meet & Greet function and Awards Dinner among the highlights of the five-day event organised and hosted by the Monaro Club of Queensland

The Nationals Show & Shine is anticipated to feature a display of up to 300 stunning examples of Holden’s big Muscle Car – from original HK models, through to the final four-door HZ, and onto the very last VZ coupes.

This will be the first Monaro Nationals in four years and the first since the demise of Holden in 2020. It’s also only the second time the Nationals have been hosted in the Sunshine State, the first being back in 2010.

Monaro Nationals 2022 will also feature a celebration of the Monaro Precision Driving Team.

The Precision Driving Team was founded in Queensland by Lloyd Robertson in 1969. Throughout the decade that followed this official factory backed team performed with a succession of HT, HG, HQ, HJ, HX and HZ Monaro models – almost exclusively accompanied by a full-throttle V8 soundtrack.

The Queensland based squad thrilled crowds across Australia for nearly 40 years, starring in over 9000 performances at a wide range of shows and events across the nation – entertaining over 45 million people in the process.

As an added tribute, Monaro Nationals 2022 plan to utilise more than one Toowoomba venue that hosted the Precision Driving Team in their heyday.

In addition, the Monaro Nationals will acknowledge the 50th anniversary of the HQ SS, a car that was the inspiration behind the first four-door Monaro, and the forefather to a long line of Holden SS vehicles.

A dedicated Monaro Nationals website will be launched later in 2021, but for further information, call 0477 7MUNRO
