TABITHA Ambrose will be granted the opportunity to sample the car that powered her famous father into the NASCAR record books.
It was in a Richard Petty Motorsports-run Ford Fusion that Marcos Ambrose won Cup Series races at Watkins Glen in 2011 and ’12. He remains the only Australian ever to conquer NASCAR’s top tier.
The car was relocated to Australia in 2023 and appeared on-track at Queensland Raceway in the hands of Warren Luff last February.
Now, Marcos’ daughter Tabitha will get to drive it – first at a February 4 test day under Luff’s supervision, and then at the Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival (February 28-March 1).
It follows the Ambroses having been ambassadors of the 2025 bp Adelaide Grand Final, after which Marcos was inducted into the Supercars Hall of Fame.
In addition to competing in Formula Ford, Tabitha last year drove a range of historic race cars and is set to transition into tin-tops.
