V8 SLEUTH has added the extensive archive of award-winning motorsport photographer Ross Gibb to its ever-growing portfolio of motorsport media assets.
The Melbourne-based photographer will also supply V8 Sleuth with photos from all rounds of this year’s Repco Supercars Championship and select other events.
The widely respected shooter has been a regular photographer at Supercars Championship rounds since 1998 and only missed a handful of rounds since then.
He’s been a stand-out among Australian motorsport photographers – not hard given he’s 200 centimetres tall! – for not only his cheery disposition but his skill behind the camera.
Gibb has followed the Supercars Championship all over the world from Australia to its various international destinations in New Zealand, China, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi and the United States.
He spent many years as Garry Rogers Motorsport’s photographer and has covered a variety of events outside Supercars, including the Bathurst 24 Hour and 12 Hour events, and recently the Australian and World SuperBikes.
Gibb began his career as a freelancer in 1996 shooting events in Victoria and shot his first V8 Supercar round at Calder in 1998.
“Ross and I have been friends for over 20 years and I’m both thrilled and honoured he’s chosen V8 Sleuth and our AN1 Images archive as the new home of his impressive portfolio of motorsport photography,” says V8 Sleuth MD Aaron Noonan.
“He’s been supplying us with fantastic imagery during this season and extending this into an arrangement that also includes Ross’ archive makes sense for both parties.”
Gibb won the Supercars Best On Track Photo award at the Supercars Media Awards in 2019 for his image of Nick Percat’s fiery Townsville late race pit stop.
His significant library of motorsport photography joins the likes of respected photographers Graeme Neander, Andrew Hall, Dirk Klynsmith and Justin Deeley in the AN1 Images archive.
