A THREE-TIME podium-finishing Brad Jones Racing Supercar will join the Dunlop Super2 Series this year.
Chassis BJR 011 has been sidelined since the 2022 season finale, when Bryce Fullwood raced the ZB Commodore in Adelaide.
The car will return to competition later this month at Mount Panorama as BJR expands its Super2 program to field rookie duo Cody Gillis and Elliott Cleary, who will sport #19 and #9 respectively.
Gillis will be behind the wheel of BJR 011, which debuted at the 2018 Adelaide 500 in the hands of Tim Slade.
Slade drove it to two main game podiums the following year, at Albert Park and Newcastle, before Todd Hazelwood took over in 2020.
It was in that car which Hazelwood recorded the sole podium (Sydney Motorsport Park) and pole position (Townsville) of his Supercars Championship career to date.
The car was again driven by Hazelwood in 2021, and then by Fullwood in ’22.
Cleary meanwhile will be in BJR 010, the ex-Nick Percat/Macauley Jones car which BJR entered in the 2023 Super2 Series for Lochie Dalton (who has joined Tickford Racing).
Gillis and Cleary tested at Winton during the week.
All up, there will be three Commodores built by the Albury squad on the 2024 Super2 grid, with privateer Matt Chahda remaining in BJR 006.
