JACK Le Brocq’s reunion with Erebus Motorsport will start a week earlier than anticipated, at the Repco Bathurst 12 Hour.
Erebus has announced its support of M-Motorsport and its Mercedes-AMG GT3 at the February 16-18 event – a week before Round 1 of the 2024 Repco Supercars Championship, also at Mount Panorama.
Le Brocq will join Glen Wood (the brother of former Erebus Supercars driver Dale), Garth Walden and team owner Justin McMillan.
“With the support of Erebus and our M-Motorsport team, together with a new Mercedes GT3 and a formidable Pro-Am driver line-up, I am confident that we will be a strong contender for the Pro-Am this year,” said McMillan.
“The Bathurst 12 Hour is undoubtedly one of the world’s most demanding races and we have a lot of boxes to tick but I’m excited for what’s to come.”
Besides their respective Erebus connections, Le Brocq and Wood have history from when the latter acted as mechanic and data engineer in JLB’s title-winning 2012 Australian Formula Ford campaign.
A big year awaits Le Brocq, rejoining Erebus at a time when it has established itself as the team to beat in the Gen3 era of Supercars.
“I’m super excited to be getting the band back together and attacking the Mountain in a current-spec Mercedes GT3,” said the 31-year-old, whose maiden Bathurst 1000 start came in an Erebus Merc (E63).
“I obviously spent some time in the SLS back in ‘13-’14 under the Erebus banner and to be back with Justin and Glen who I’ve shared some incredibly memorable times with is a huge honour.
“It’s also a great opportunity to get some early miles in before my 2024 Supercars campaign with Erebus gets underway at the Bathurst 500.”
