A NEW fixture is set to launch the 2026 historic motorsport season, with the Sandown Revival Motoring Festival taking over Sandown Raceway from January 17-18.
From the team behind the Geelong Revival, the event is set to mix super sprints and regularities, with a significant off-track vehicle display of up to 300 vehicles.
A curious centrepiece will be Humungus’s Wasteland War-Machine from the Mad Max 2 movie.
The on-track facet will include a mix of categories, including sports cars, open-wheelers, and pre-war cars, spanning the dawn of the automotive age through to 1939.
Set to feature in the mix of clubs involved in the event are the Ferrari Club, the Cobra Club, with classics such as the Cobra, Daytona and GT40s, plus the Marque Sports Car Association, with a wide array of vehicles.
The indoor members’ reserve area will contain 40 elite machines for the Supercars and Classics showcase.
The event will be hosted by noted revhead Shane Jacobson, with additional entertainment to be provided by the Hot Wheels Stunt Team, plus the Randy Ryders Junk Yard.
Pit passes will be available, including access to laser tag for 8- to 16-year-olds, dodgem cars, sim racing, and slot car racing.
In a continuation of the Geelong Revival spirit, a vintage fashion show will also take centre stage.
Gates open daily at 9am, with on-track action kicking off at 10am.
The Victorian historic motorsport season then continues with the 2026 Phillip Island Penrite 100 Classic from March 13th to 15th.
