History-making WAU Commodores for sale

THE cars which delivered the former Holden Racing Team its first Supercars Championship race win and Bathurst 1000 victory as Walkinshaw Andretti United have hit the market.

WR 024 has been listed for sale via my105.com with an asking price of $495,000.

The Holden ZB Commodore debuted in the hands of Scott Pye in 2018 and only had to wait until its fifth start to taste victory.

That came in fading light at Albert Park and remains the only main game win of Pye’s career to date.

The result also came in just the second event for the famous Clayton squad’s new era featuring Andretti Autosport and United Autosports as co-owners (Holden having shifted its factory support to Triple Eight at the end of 2016).

This particular Commodore then powered Pye and Warren Luff to a runner-up finish in that year’s Bathurst 1000.

All up, the car has 110 championship races under its belt across four seasons (two with Pye as its primary driver followed by two with Bryce Fullwood).

It has not raced since a fifth-place finish for Fullwood/Luff in the 2021 Bathurst 1000 but is eligible to be entered in the Dunlop Super2 Series.

The car has been restored to its race-winning 2018 Albert Park livery by WAU.

It’s not the only WAU Commodore up for grabs on my105.com; it’s joined by WR 026 which won the 2021 Great Race in the hands of Chaz Mostert and Lee Holdsworth.

Owned by the Morse family and its supporters – Zane Morse was on the Super2 podium in Townsville, driving an ex-Cam Waters Mustang – WR 026 had also appeared on Lloyds Auctions earlier this year.
