Most successful Supercar in history arrives at Bathurst

THE Holden ZB Commodore behind much of Shane van Gisbergen’s recent dominance has been put on display at Bathurst.

Fittingly, its place in the National Motor Racing Museum is just metres from the Mount Panorama circuit where van Gisbergen drove 888A-054 (also known as ‘Chastitii’) to a pair of Great Race wins with Garth Tander.

It is the most successful Supercar in history, with 39 championship race wins to its name.

The car was driven by van Gisbergen throughout the 2020-22 seasons, totalling 92 races – putting its victory strike rate at a remarkable 42.39 percent.

It also delivered the final two championship triumphs for Holden.

Holden’s final race winner, the sister Red Bull Ampol Commodore driven by Broc Feeney, just last week had its new home announced.

888A-055 now lives at The Bend Motorsport Park’s welcome centre, nearby the two-time title-winning Triple Eight Holden Supercar of Jamie Whincup’s known as ‘Kate’.

Both 888A-054 and 888A-055 are owned by PremiAir Racing boss Peter Xiberras.
