MSR confirms change of major sponsor for 2024

MATT Stone Racing has confirmed a looming change of naming rights sponsorship for the 2024 Repco Supercars Championship season.

It has long been speculated that Truck Assist will shift its primary support to one of the Walkinshaw Andretti United Mustangs in 2024, and MSR has now confirmed its half of the equation.

“Truck Assist will step back as the naming rights partner of Matt Stone Racing at the conclusion of 2023, though will continue as a supporting partner of the team,” read an MSR statement provided to V8 Sleuth.

“By no means does this spell the end of the MSR family’s relationship with Truck Assist and parent brand NTI, with the nation’s number one truck insurance provider’s support to continue in 2024 in a different guise.

“It does mean that the striking orange Chevrolet Racing Camaros that MSR fans have grown so fond of, will not look the same on the grid next Supercars Championship season.

“MSR will have an exciting announcement regarding the new look of Cameron Hill and Nick Percat’s Camaros in the new year.

“As 2023 draws to a close, the team would like to thank Truck Assist, and its parent company NTI, for its unwavering support since the beginning of 2020.

“Watch this space.”

NTI subsidiary Yellow Cover Insurance had taken naming rights on the squad’s #35 entry in both 2020 and 2021, for Garry Jacobson and Zane Goddard respectively, before Truck Assist took the lead on both cars from ’22 onwards.

MSR is coming off a breakthrough 2023 campaign in which Jack Le Brocq delivered its maiden main game pole position and race win in Darwin.

Le Brocq has been picked up by champion squad Erebus Motorsport for next season, with four-time race winner Percat taking his place.
