Nulon backing for Golding Chevrolet

JAMES Golding will don different colours in the 2023 Repco Supercars Championship, with PremiAir Racing announcing Nulon as the major sponsor for his #31 Camaro.

Nulon had previously featured at Team 18, including several rounds last year as the naming rights partner on Scott Pye’s car, while Golding was supported by Subway.

The first public hint at the long-rumoured 2023 deal came at the recent Bathurst 12 Hour, where PremiAir’s Audi entry sported the branding of Nulon’s sister company Fuchs.

Fuchs has remained at Team 18, appearing on the bonnet of Mark Winterbottom’s Chevrolet, while Nulon has jumped ship.

“In PremiAir Racing we believe we’ve found a dynamic, ambitious partner that mirrors our desire to push the boundaries,” explained Nulon Products Australia channel marketing manager Tom Murray.

“We’re excited to see what James Golding can do in the Nulon Racing Camaro on the streets of Newcastle in a few weeks.”

Golding, who returned to the full-time Supercars scene midway through last season after two-and-a-half years out, spoke with excitement about the news.

“What a perfect time to have a company like Nulon onboard,” he said.

“They will greatly support our development of the new Gen3 cars’ performance.

“I am excited to be carrying the colours of this great brand in 2023. With my background as a qualified mechanic, I appreciate the quality of their products.

“I look forward to sharing our success with Nulon and all our other fantastic supporters.”

There is no indication yet as to a race livery for PremiAir’s other Camaro, the #23 which will be driven by Tim Slade.

Both Slade and Golding’s cars appeared at Queensland Raceway shakedowns in plain black with PremiAir branding down the sides.

They’ll next be in action at a Sydney Motorsport Park test day on February 22.
