A NEW print is set to be released to commemorate Dick Johnson Racing becoming the first team in Australian Touring Car/Supercars Championship history to post its 1000th championship race start.
The 2022 Repco Bathurst 1000 marked the team’s millennial milestone within the ATCC/Supercars Championship, dating back to the team’s first appearance at Symmons Plains for the opening round of the 1981 season.
Produced by Authentic Collectables with photographs and data supplied by AN1 Media and officially licensed by Dick Johnson Racing, the large format photographic collectors print charts the team’s four-decade journey from that inaugural race at Symmons Plains to its 1000th race.
Currently available to pre-order through the V8 Sleuth Superstore, the design features an image and details of each of Dick Johnson Racing’s milestone appearances, from races 1, 50 and 100 right through to number 1000.
Many of the team’s most iconic cars are featured, from the Tru-Blu XD and Greens’-Tuf XE Falcons, the powerhouse Sierra’s right through to the current day Shell V-Power Mustangs along with imagery of some of the star drivers who have called DJR home during their careers and contributed to the milestone.
Also featured in the design is a range of statistics covering the team’s results over the 1000 championship races and includes a list of championship winners, the top 10 winning drivers along with the total wins, poles and podiums for the team.
Printed on 250gsm matte paper stock using offset print technology, it measures a large 1000 X 590mm and includes Pantone Gold Metallic Ink for an extra special finish.
Currently scheduled to be released in late 2022, this limited edition print will be individually numbered and signed by both Dick Johnson AM and Dr. Ryan Story AM.
The print is among a suite of memorabilia that commemorates DJR’s milestone, with scale models of the team’s Repco Bathurst 1000 retro livery as well as a bespoke ‘1000 races’ livery, a book chronicling the team’s 1000 races, plus a limited-edition art print of the team’s retro-liveried entries for its 1000th championship race.
