WORK is underway to demolish the motorsport elements of Pukekohe Park Raceway.
The popular New Zealand venue closed to motorsport last year, with focus being funnelled into the horse racing side of the precinct.
Now, there is no turning back.
Armco barriers have been removed, and photos supplied to V8 Sleuth show demolition efforts occurring including to the overpass on the front straight, by which fans would transit to and from the infield/paddock.
Pukekohe first hosted the Supercars Championship in 2001, and last did so in 2022.
There’s a new NZ home of Supercars now, with Taupō Motorsport Park to make its debut on the calendar next month.
