Special Gold Coast livery for Golding

PREMIAIR Racing will roll out a fresh look for James Golding ahead of this month’s Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500.

The team, in conjunction with sponsor Subway, will unveil the #31 livery at an event this Sunday on the Surfers Paradise promenade.

Part of the show will be an hour-long DJ performance by Golding himself.

“I cannot wait for the Subway Sunday Sesh – what a great way to unveil the exciting new look for the #31 Subway PremiAir Racing Supercar ahead of the Gold Coast 500,” Golding said.

“Not everyone knows this about me, but I am also a DJ and being behind the decks is a real happy place for me.

“So to be able to combine that with this livery unveil and help Subway create a fun event on the beach for the fans is really great.

“I can’t wait to see all the fans in Surfers Paradise on Sunday for what will be a great afternoon, one week before the streets of Surfers Paradise come alive with the sounds of the Gold Coast 500.”

PremiAir’s #22 Commodore meanwhile will retain the retro livery it ran at the recent Repco Bathurst 1000.

There, Golding and Dylan O’Keeffe finished 12th while a late power steering issue restricted Chris Pither/Cameron Hill to 21st.

It has since been confirmed that Pither will leave the team at season’s end, with Tim Slade widely tipped to replace the Kiwi.

There has been mounting speculation that Golding could also be ousted, but V8 Sleuth understands the 26-year-old has now all but officially secured an extension for 2023.
