Supercars backing Kostecki’s NASCAR debut

SUPERCARS has confirmed its support of the Chevrolet Camaro in which Brodie Kostecki will make his NASCAR Cup Series debut in a fortnight’s time.

Featuring on the rear three-quarter panels of the #33 Richard Childress Racing wildcard will be SuperView, which is the international streaming product of the Repco Supercars Championship.

There’s already plenty of intrigue as to how Kostecki will fare in Indianapolis following Shane van Gisbergen’s incredible win on debut earlier this month in Chicago.

That result triggered a spike in SuperView uptake as international fans sought to see how van Gisbergen – and his regular rivals – fared at the Townsville 500.

“We’re very excited to be backing Brodie and his team on his NASCAR debut with the SuperView advertisement,” Howard said.

“Shane van Gisbergen’s spectacular victory earlier this month was seen around the globe, and we received more than 14,000 expressions of interest in SuperView within days after the win.

“That resulted in more than two million views on our website for our Townsville event one week later and 3.3 million YouTube minutes watched over the same period.

“This partnership presents an excellent opportunity for us to highlight the exceptional streaming quality and comprehensive coverage that SuperView offers to racing fans all around the world.”

Kostecki, who was third fastest in Practice 2 this afternoon at Sydney Motorsport Park, thanked Supercars for its support.

“I’m absolutely stoked to be making my NASCAR Cup Series debut in Indianapolis,” said Kostecki.

“It’s a dream come true, and I can’t thank Supercars enough for their support through SuperView on our #33 Camaro.

“Having SuperView on our car adds an extra layer of excitement.

“It’s a fantastic product that offers fans unmatched streaming quality and complete coverage of the 2023 Repco Supercars Championship. I’m proud to carry their logo and introduce more racing enthusiasts to SuperView.

“With the excitement that followed Shane’s NASCAR win I hope I can make my mark and convert some NASCAR fans over to Supercars. I can’t wait to hit the track and give it everything I’ve got.”

Van Gisbergen will also be racing at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course on August 13.

Other wildcard entries for that event include ex-Formula 1 drivers Jenson Button and Kamui Kobayashi.
