Supercars champion adds string to his bow

EVER fancied having a Supercars champion facilitate the purchase or sale of your home?

It’s now a genuine possibility, with James Courtney revealing he’s entered the real estate industry.

Courtney is still seriously motivated about life as a Blanchard Racing Team driver, but, turning 44 next month and almost certainly in the penultimate season of his full-time career, he’s mindful of what the future holds.

“Over the last couple of years and I suppose last year more so, I started to think about what I could do with my time post-racing and also with the free time that we have,” he said via a social media video.

“So I did my car dealership and dealer licence and got that and was like ‘hey, that was easy, let’s see what else we can do’ and I did my real estate one.

“I’m just having a great time doing stuff with real estate and really starting to get into it and enjoy it.

“So if anyone has got a house they want to sell, it doesn’t have to be just here in Hope Island, it can be anywhere on the (Gold) Coast or nationally, let me know and we’ll see if we can come up with something for you guys. I’m just excited about the next stage.”

The 2010 Supercars champion and a 15-time race winner, Courtney recorded BRT’s only top 10 result of the season to date at Albert Park.

He’s not the only accomplished driver in the real estate industry, with 2021 Bathurst 1000 winner Lee Holdsworth working for CBRE.
