Swedish import arrives ahead of TCR Australia debut

TCR Australia team Ashley Seward Motorsport has taken delivery of the Lynk & Co 03 which it will field next month at Phillip Island.

Formerly run by Cyan Racing in the old FIA World Touring Car Cup, the car has undergone a rebuild ahead of being handed over to ASM recruit Tom Oliphant.

The British Touring Car Championship race winner will hop behind the wheel for a test at Phillip Island later in April, after which an Autoglym-centred livery will be applied.

“I’m absolutely ecstatic to have taken delivery of our Lynk & Co 03 TCR ahead of Round 2 at Phillip Island,” said team owner Seward.

“On first impression, we’re blown away by the car.

“It’s built like a tank and features exceptional craftsmanship. We’re really excited to get to work on preparing it for Lynk & Co’s track debut Down Under.

“We have a test day lined up later in the month where we’ll put the car through its paces and get Tom accustomed to the new machinery.

“We’ve got some fantastic support from our partners at Autoglym, and we can’t wait to unveil a fresh new livery as we get closer to the event.”

Oliphant was solid in his maiden TCR Australia round, in February at Symmons Plains, driving an ASM Alfa Romeo to results of seventh, fourth and fifth.

Round 2 unfolds on May 12-14.
