Teams to race in Dana Wyhoon’s honour

TEAMS will race at Bathurst this weekend in honour of the late Dana Wyhoon.

It was announced this morning that Wyhoon, the wife of Image Racing owner Terry, has passed away after a battle with illness.

Image Racing has long been a fixture of the Dunlop Super2 Series and will be represented on the Bathurst 500 grid this weekend by Jarrod Hughes.

Image is also affiliated with Erebus Motorsport, which will enter Jobe Stewart in Super2 as well as its pair of main game Camaros.

Erebus CEO Barry Ryan paid tribute to Wyhoon and dedicated his team’s efforts at the Mountain to her.

“Rest in peace Dana Wyhoon,” he wrote via LinkedIn.

“Such a sad loss to my motorsport world and family!!

“True passion and loyalty for motorsport and the people in it epitomised Dana, you will be sadly missed.

“Erebus Motorsport and Image Racing will race in honour of Dana this weekend at Bathurst and forever!!”

Wyhoon’s son Ryan has taken to social media to announce a funeral will be held 2pm AEDT on February 27 at the Korumburra Cemetery.

V8 Sleuth extends its condolences to the Wyhoon family.
