Tickets on sale for return of Sandown’s famous 500

TICKETS are on sale now for the Penrite Oil Sandown 500 at Sandown Motor Raceway in Melbourne, to be held on September 15-17.

The ninth round of this year’s Repco Supercars Championship will see the return of the 500-kilometre, two-driver endurance race for the first time since 2019.

The last Sandown 500 – held in November 2019 – was won by Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowndes. The last time the event was held as the pre-Bathurst endurance race was September 2018, when it was won by Whincup and Paul Dumbrell.

This year’s event sees the return of the Top 10 Shootout to the Sandown 500 for the first time since 2007 – there will not be a pair of Saturday afternoon qualifying races to determine the grid for the ‘500 as in the recent past.

Tickets are available now here for the event with a wide range of options available, including General Admission, Reserved and Unreserved Grandstand seating, Trackside Parking Upgrades, Paddock Passes, Merchandise Packs and Pit Lane Walk upgrades.

There’s a packed support category line-up at Sandown as well with the Supercars joined by the Dunlop Series for Super2 and Super3 cars, the Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia, the Toyota GAZOO Racing Australia 86 Series and V8 SuperUtes over the course of the three days.

The V8 Sleuth team is also kicking off event week for the Sandown 500 with a special V8 Sleuth Open Night at Tickford Racing’s race centre on Wednesday evening, September 13.

Tickets are extremely limited and available here until sold out.
