Tickford CEO search ramping up

TICKFORD Racing has engaged global recruiting firm Odgers Berndtson to swiftly find its next CEO.

Next week’s VAILO Adelaide 500 is set to be the final event in Tim Edwards’ 19-year tenure at the Campbellfield squad previously known as Ford Performance Racing and Prodrive Racing Australia.

Edwards’ impending departure was announced following the Sandown 500, and while another Bathurst 1000 victory proved elusive, the former Jordan Formula 1 team manager has at least had the chance to return to a Supercars podium one more time by virtue of Cam Waters’ Gold Coast triumph.

It was directly after the Gold Coast 500 that Tickford team manager Matt Roberts indicated the search for Edwards’ successor is heating up.

“Rod (Nash) and Sven (Burchartz, fellow co-owner) are actively looking to replace Tim,” said Roberts.

“There’s a lot of restructuring going on at the moment within the team. There’s a few outgoing, and people changing roles and whatnot.”

Among other changes going on at Tickford is an off-season move from four Repco Supercars Championship cars to two.

An exact end date for Edwards is not yet known, but applications to replace him will close on Saturday November 25, per the Odgers Berndtson listing.

Interviews are due to be held in January next year.

It’s expected Edwards’ dual role of CEO/team principal will be split moving forward.

Odgers Berndtson was the firm which Motorsport Australia appointed to find its new CEO once Eugene Arocca revealed his end-of-his year retirement.

Sunil Vohra was last month confirmed as Motorsport Australia’s new CEO, and he recently started in the role.
